BIOGRAPHY

The album Beatcoaster is the long awaited debut album by Rephrase (Jaime Olsen), to be released on Casa Del Discos Recordings. Tracks from the album have already been embraced and chosen for compilations by the cream of Australian dj’s and recently the world respected Miguel Migs picked up on the track 'Way Of Life' for the Nite Life series on NRK Records. Both Beach Vibes and Longrain 2 have proudly included tracks and hitting the shelves anytime now will be tracks on Bondi Calling 2 and Sharif Galal's first ever JJJ Groovetrain compilation.

Rephrase has already released a vinyl ep of a few tracks on Casa Del Discos Recordings, which has found its way into the crates of John Stapleton (Dope On Plastic) and Gilles Peterson. With the track ‚'Mink' about to be released on 12" vinyl featuring remixes by Off World stars Soundlab and former bandmates db chills you can expect to hear Rephrase cropping up everywhere.

Beatcoaster could only be the product of someone who has dedicated themselves to music. Jaime's dedication has seen him achieve so much in the last ten years including completing a B.A. in Contemporary Music, playing in bands which toured around Australia including Kaleidavibe and Db Chills (who also released an excellent album on Offworld Sounds) . As Rephrase he also won the Australian Roland Groovemaster competition, released remixes on several Sony compilations aswell as composing music for film and TV. When not working in his studio he works part time in Paddington Disc a music store that stocks the cutting edge and the classic in all genres of music. Frequently he would play his mixes in the store checking them sonically against his favourites and listening in the context of contemporaries Tru Thoughts, Grand Central, Ninja Tune, Compost, G Stone and Eighteenth Street Lounge.
