Mark Ginsburg: the force behind the postumously released Gordon Brisker album

BIOGRAPHY

Mark Ginsburg emerged as a saxophonist of note in Cape Town in his collaborations with South African legends such as Merton Barrow and Nol Klinkhamer. His work ranged from shows to television and tours, including a two-month tour working with notorious British comedian Spike Milligan. Since migrating to Australia, Mark has performed and collaborated extensively with Judy Campbell. He recently completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium. He is one of the founding members of Mosaic, contributing compositions and arrangements for the band. Mark's compositions have been performed by the Mike Nock's Project. He is also a member of the Groove Machine Big Band and currently leads his own Quartet. Preparations for a CD recording are underway.

In the words of Mark himself: "The things that drive my musical explorations range from strains of Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane playing on a monophonic turntable when I was too young to operate it, through to the contemporary jazz emanating from the highly creative and inspiring music scene in Australia."
