The Shapes Compilation series continues with more upfront and exclusive killer material! With plenty of the music available on CD for the first time, this compilation has a way of sneaking into your stereo and believe us you won’t want to take it off! Furthermore it will make you want to check the individual artist LP's if you haven't already done so! Including tracks from The QSO; Alice Russell, Diesler, TM Juke, Nostalgia 77, Flevans and new signings Nirobi & Barakas, Kinny & Horne, Jumbonics and your good man like Hint sounding fresh as ever! With seven previously unreleased exclusive tracks and four previously vinyl only releases, we say go fetch!
TM JUKE / KNEE DEEP feat ALICE RUSSELL (NOSTALGIA
77 TREATMENT)
Taken from TM Juke's debut 'Maps From The Wilderness' album, Nostalgia 77
remixes the track adding live strings in keeping with the soulful flavour.
EXCLUSIVE
KINNY & HORNE / WHY ME
Kinny is half Jamaican and half Native Indian, born in Canada and now living
in Norway. Horne is producer Espen Horne aka Bobby Hughes. Together they have
recorded the album 'Forgetting To Remember' which features ten great vocal
tracks. Look out for them live at Cargo, phonic:hoop, The Big Chill and the
Jazz Café.
THE QUANTIC SOUL ORCHESTRA / SOMETHING THAT'S REAL
(NAPPA MIX feat LIFE & MR THING)
Taken from the 'Stampede' album this remix finds the track taken to a more
hip hop orientated sound, with Phi Life Cypher's Nappa on production and Life
on the rap. EXCLUSIVE
ALICE RUSSELL / DO IT feat UNFORSCENE
Alice has recently been approached by Daddy G from Massive Attack and has
been asked to feature on their next album. Her debut album 'Under The Munka
Moon' has brought her fans from Vanessa Feltz to Norman Jay to Bugz In The
Attic...you won't see those three names together in a press release very often!
FIRST TIME ON CD
JUMBONICS / SLINGER
Their debut EP received a huge amount of positive feedback for their fusion
of funky analogue sounds with a 21st Century production. This track is taken
from their forthcoming album 'Super Baxophone'. FIRST TIME ON CD
NIROBI & BARAKAS / PARTRIDGE
A collaboration between Tru Thoughts' Robert Luis (Nirobi) and Ninja Tune's
Bonobo (Barakas). Together they have made a track that fuses Bollywood with
a mid-tempo breakbeat and one of the fattest basslines around. Already rocking
dancefloors across the world. EXCLUSIVE
FLEVANS / THE NOTION feat SWEET LAREDO
The first vocal track from this classically trained producer finds him in
slow-disco mode with a twist. This track does not feature on Flevans’
debut album 'Make New Friends.' FIRST TIME ON CD
DIESLER / EL COCO
The 20 year old Burnley producer has been causing dancefloor mayhem with his
productions which effortlessly fuse Jazz, Latin, Brazilian and Cuban styles.
This track does not feature on the album 'Diggin It Somethin Rotten.' EXCLUSIVE
QUANTIC / MISHAPS HAPPENING (PRINS THOMAS EDIT)
Norway's re-edit supremeo does his thing on this classic Quantic track. Already
getting support by Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio 1. EXCLUSIVE
JUMBONICS / JEZEBEL (DIESLER MIX)
Diesler has been busy with a number of remixes. This stop/start track has
proved to be a real favourite on the dancefloor. FIRST TIME ON CD
HINT / THE TREMMUH
Hint has previously recorded for Ninja Tune and is now signed to Tru Thoughts.
His sound has progressed massively in the last year or so as this track rightly
reveals. Squelchy basslines for the broken generation. EXCLUSIVE
NOSTALGIA 77 / THE HOPE SUITE (Part 1)
The sound of N77 has been winning a lot of fans of late, with his distinctive
take on fusing jazz with a hip hop attitude. This track does not appear on
his second album 'The Garden' but gives a glimpse of the sound he is currently
pursuing. This is his second vocal track after the success of his 'Seven Nation
Army' cover version with Alice Russell. EXCLUSIVE
