For almost six years, Stéphane Pompougnac has been lending credibility to compilations. Since he decided to document the best tracks he played at the Hôtel Costes (Paris), he has managed to establish these elegant musical cocktails in which he transcends the concept of lounge music. Beyond the recognised artistic ambition, he has even made an incredible world-wide success of his musical selections. More than a million and seven thousand people have already been overcome by the fever of his Hôtel Costes compilations.

"I met Madonna several times at Hôtel Costes in Paris. I knew she was keen on my music but she never ask me direct to work with her. Someday, Caresse Henry, Madonna's first assistant, got in touch with my producer Eric Hauville to ask if I was interested to do a remix of "What it feels like for a girl". It was a big surprise to me. Few days later, I received the original tapes with a quick brief to make a lounge remix in the "Hotel Costes" spirit cause Madonna was seduced by the atmosphere of the compilations. I remember I was totally impressed to hear the tape of her voice (without any effect), I could even hear her breathing".

Brought up in south-west France, Stephane Pompougnac, now 34, started his career at the Palace, Bains Douches and Queen clubs in Paris, spawning grounds for many up-and-coming DJ's looking to make a name for themselves in more opulent circles. Spotted by Jean-Louis Costes, partner in the well-known Hôtel Costes, Stéphane brought his influential style to the sumptuous surroundings of Paris' most coveted celebrity stopover. Stéphane is also the A-List's choice of DJ and has residencies the world over, including New York, Moscow, Dubaï, and still Hôtel Costes in Paris. Producer of several tracks included on each volume of Hotel Costes compilations, Stéphane has just released his first debut album "LIVING ON THE EDGE" which includes the hit single "Clumsy" featuring on vocals Michael Stipe, singer of REM.
