SECRET STEALTH - Ssshhh!

SecretStealth are Jim Baron (Crazy Penis) and Bob Sadler (Fug), both well known for their work on Nuphonic, Paper Recordings, Tummytouch, Session Recordings and Guidance amongst others, along with a list of remix credits as long as a toddlers arm. They both now reside on Nottingham's much-admired Shiva Records, which is being hailed as the hottest new imprint since Naked Music by those in the know, and it is from the foundations of Shiva Records that Bocajito has arisen, featuring new combinations of Shiva's most loved bands.

Born out of one too many beers in the local, the two decided their Fridays would be more enjoyable if they left behind their serious, pressure-filled day jobs to make some fun- funk music together. They dusted off the sampler, started listening to old acid-house records, left their prejudices at the door and this is the result - dance music which borrows from the past but doesn't get bogged down in the world of four to the floor.

Their debut album "Ssshhh!" has already been causing something of a stir on CDR, packed as it is with sweet melodies, funky riffs and a bagful of top-notch vocal performances from a posse of invited guests. Tracks like the warm, welcoming opener 'Stealth 2', the self-explanatory 'Make Love!' and the floorfilling 'Can't Get Away from You' all invite the listener in with their funk-fuelled intentions: its an album that works as a reaction against the uptight, po-faced nature of too many longplayers - instead it swings through genres and moods and grooves with an easy pace and a smile on its face.

So spread the word: SecretStealth aren't going to be a secret much longer.
