HARLEM ZIP CODE - Colour World Soul

It was only a matter of time for San Francisco's Red Melon to finally step up with their first full-length album. Written by former Paper Recordings artists Tony Free and Merlin Garnett together as Harlem Zip Code, "Colour World Soul" (Red Melon US, August 24) packs in a vibrant cast of international talent on this collection of nine lively tunes with a distinctly cheeky edge.

Meeting in the summer of 1996, Tony and Merlin quickly made a name for themselves as an in-demand songwriting and production team. The duo released tracks on labels including but not limited to Nervous, Catch 22, React, Wall of Sound, Naked, and Faith Records. With DJ's such as Tony Humphries and Graeme Park charting their work, Harlem Zip Code built their following by effortlessly bridging their studio talents with vocalists and live instrumentation. With their combined years of studio tinkering resulting in "Color World Soul" - Tony and Merlin fully embrace the vagaries of house music and have delivered the latest distinctive chapter of British dance. "Colour World Soul" is nine beautifully crafted songs with real meaning and purpose, backed by sexy, slinky, funk-ridden grooves. This album captures bodies in motion on the floor and the VIP room two stories up. It's a new love affair: the more you get to know it, the more you want of it.
