ESKIMO DISCO - Robots and Laptop Dancers Make Good Friends

Meet Sci-Fi Snyth Pop threesome, ESKIMO DISCO.  Hailing from the UK these kids are set to transport you to another musical dimension with the release of their anticipated debut ROBOTS AND LAPTOP DANCERS MAKE GOOD FRIENDS.

Critics across the UK have been singing the praises of ESKIMO DISCO for some time now, & it’s no wonder.  Their polished & infectious live show has seen them take to the stage to support the likes of ARCTIC MONKEYS, THE RAKES, THE YOUNG KNIVES, CHROMEO & JAMIE LIDELL, not to mention headline slots at warehouse parties, clubs and festivals across the UK & Europe.

Eskimo Disco released their debut single 7-11 in 2006 to rave reviews and a chart placement of #15 in the UK independent music charts.  The catchy single even spawned a collaboration with none other than kids TV favourite PINGU to create an amazing animated film clip and a series of live performances with the bouncing life size penguin!!
The heat was on the band and so sprang into life the follow up single, WHAT IS WOMAN?  A punk funk kitsch anthem about aliens from outta space come to call on our ladies.  So effervescent indeed that the track was signed immediately by cult label STIFF RECORDS (The Enemy, Devo, Ian Drury, The Damned) and released as a single as well as appearing on the Stiff records box set.

Bring on 2008 and the long awaited debut full-length album from the UK trio.  ROBOTS & LAPTOP DANCERS MAKE GOOD FRIENDS already has critics from the likes of tastemaker publications & stations such as NME, POP JUSTICE & XFM (literally!!) spinning.  Produced by APPOLLO 440’S HOWARD GRAY (U2, The Cure, Simple Minds) at Apollo Studios, the album finally sets them up for the acclaim they so duly deserve.

Packed with otherworldly electro funk and indie new wave, ROBOTS & LAPTOPS rewards even the most cynical of listeners with 44.56 minutes of infectious alt pop that delivers every ounce of the stomping party energy of their live performances.  The journey begins with possibly one of the best intro’s ever in LIVE ON MARS PART 1.  After a quick visit to the red planet the boys stop off for 12 interjections of disco laden, pop drenched anthems from tracks such as AIR GUITAR (with a solo to top solos!!), SHE PLAYS HER GAME, COMMODORE & PICTURE PERFECT which features lead vocals from Icelandic singer HAFDIS HULD who was launched to stardom with the FC KAHUNA hit HAYLING.

Other standout tracks include the punchy and politically charged SPEAKERS CORNER & the storming new rave track JAPANESE GIRL.  The interlude tracks on the album showcase the band’s atmospheric side and really capture the true musicianship of the trio.  Altogether this is one stunning debut release – highly polished and well produced it will find fans in the old school and new school with it’s referencing of such acts as Yazoo, The Beta Band, Air, Heaven 17 and Depeche Mode... a new classic for certain!

While every other man, woman & child were aspiring to tbe part of the indie rock action of the noughties, ESKIMO DISCO went against the grain, grabbed their vocoders, and did what oozes so naturally from their musical pores – synth driven party pop!  Thousands of fans are already massing in the UK…  Now it’s your turn Australia as CREATIVE VIBES exclusively license the albums for release in Australia & New Zealand in February 2008.
